Express Global Logistics (EXG) has deep experience in the Power Sector and closely works with its clients to execute large scale projects. We are highlighting three projects that we completed in the second half of 2019:
Shipped Shunt Reactors to Antwerp
In September 2019, our team shipped two sets of 100 MVA Shunt Reactors weighing 72 MT each from Mumbai to Antwerp. While the client had only approached us for one reactor, we had the scale and know-how to handle both their Reactors in a single shipment.
The scope of the project was to acquire a suitable RORO Vessel from point of loading to the destination and to coordinate with all involved stakeholders for a timely handover. The consignment had a total of 34 packages shipped on 2 x 30ft and 4 x 40ft MAFI trailers with a consolidated shipment volume of 240 CBM.
Handled two 125 MVA Transformers
In October 2019, we planned and excited a complex move of two 125 MVA transformers with their accessories. The shipment contained 2 transformers with dimensions of 6.73 x 2.60 x 4.45 (m) and weight of 87 MT each. The total volume of the cargo with accessories was 323 FRT.
The critical operation was to unload the heavy transformers from the axle onto the MAFI trailer using a 150 ton capacity crane. The port operation including lashing, choking and securing the shipment was completed within 30 hours .
Movement of Power Cable Drums to Kuwait
The last project in this case study was a project handled in November 2019 to transport Power Cable Drums to Kuwait. EXG shipped 27 Power Cable Drums, each measuring 3.50 x 2.53 x 3.60 (m). The 621 MT shipment was moved from India to Kuwait on an Ex Work Basis.
EXG was responsible for the design and fabrication of steel saddles, container stuffing and booking of flat rack (FR) containers. We handled the clearance of all 27 x 20ft FR containers with up to date documentation and total compliance. Our engineering team played a crucial role designing special saddles for the cable drums. EXG had to navigate changes in shipping dates, inclement weather conditions and challenging roads to complete this project.
We leverage our knowledge and engineering expertise to help you move complex cargo for large scale projects. Our team acts as an extension to our client’s operations team which results in the safe, timely and cost effective movement of cargo.
