It was the morning of Saturday, 21st of January 2023. The roads were starting to fill up, children were leaving for school and people were getting on with their day. However, it wasn’t just another day for the EXG Mumbai team set out on their long-anticipated Offsite.
The offsite was the first of its kind to be conducted after COVID and was attended by more than 130 of us. The idea was to bring our employees together, to provide them with an opportunity to have fun with the people we work with, get inspired, align objectives, and create special memories. This is critical as we all are so caught up with daily to-do lists, transactions, and tasks, and for all of us to let our hair down and have fun together.
We had chosen the Coconut Ivy resort in Alibaug and named it “KHUSHEE”. The fun started pretty much the moment everyone boarded the ferries. During the two-hour-long journey to the venue, many danced along the narrow aisles of the ferries and buses accompanied by raucous singing and lots of good humour.
When we reached the resort, the pool was the immediate attraction and we witnessed many of our colleagues jump in or be thrown into the pool fully clothed. Oh yes, it happened to us.
It was a delight to see all our colleagues compete with each other at the team-building activities with great enthusiasm, lots of friendly banter and light ribbing. The team-building activities included Balloon Tower, African mama and the Over and Under relay. Team Red, ably led by Captain Hetal Shah won the group games and were delighted with the gifts they received as winners.
This was followed by the DJ Party with great music and everyone dressed in our floral dress code theme dazzled the night. We witnessed a lot of special talent as the dancers in many of us emerged.
As a fun way of expressing gratitude for the team, special gifts were provided by Mrs. Sonal Gandhi which was handed out to the winners of the Housie (Tambola) game, which was played post-dinner.
Special thanks to Yogesh Lokare and Rajesh Gite, who even ran a recce a few days before the event to make sure there were no glitches at any stage, and to the People Team (Parna Mishra, Pallavi Khanolkar, and Mohit Nawani) for ensuring this was a big hit and set the tone for many more to come through the future. We would also like to thank the SPOC volunteers for their efforts and coordination and for ensuring their team members were present and attended our offsite KHUSHEE.
