Express Global Logistics (EXG) welcomes 2020 by sending a shipment of 12 Exhaust Silencers and 50 Shipper Owned Containers (SOCs) from India to Cambodia. The Silencers are an integral part of an industrial ventilation system also used to attenuate noise, in this case for a 200 MW engine power plant.
EXG’s scope was chartering a Break-bulk Vessel, with port handling in coordination with the shipper and their clearing agent. Each of the 12 Silencers were Over dimensional cargo (ODC) and heavy lift in nature.
The work began with the physical inspection of the cargo followed by loading and handling at port. All the Exhaust Silencers were loaded on a chartered Break-bulk vessel. The challenge was to adhere to the strict timelines where the spot vessel was booked on 5th Jan 2020 at Mumbai Port and cargo loading was to start on 8th Jan 2020 because of the LAYCAN. EXG honored the commitments made to its customers and agents by sticking to the timelines
The EXG team loaded the cargo at odd hours and operation extended for 2 nights due to dredging at the port. EXG is proud to have maintained utmost safety for this project to accomplish a great deal of work efficiently.
